Villagers assault, threaten, harass and loot a pastor and his family in Madhya Pradesh

A mob of seven to eight villagers armed with sticks, physically assaulted a pastor, his six year old son and his aged parents in Bilood, Pandhana, Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, because he runs a home church in the village. Few days later, a woman seized the pastor’s 8 year old daughter, while she was on her way to school to give her exams, assaulted the little girl by pulling her hair and threatened to kill her. The villagers further threatened to strip her and beat her to death if she returned to the village. The little girl was traumatised by the incident. The villagers continued their harassment by looting the Pastor’s family of their store of food grains, eggs and fifty chickens. Because of all the persecution, the family was forced to leave their homes in the village and take refuge in the surrounding jungle area.
