Christians assaulted for distributing gospel tracts

On 18.9.2016, few young Christian volunteers in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu who were distributing gospel tracts, were assaulted by a mob of hindutva religious fanatics and dragged to the Singanallur police station alleging that they were creating communal disharmony and hurting religious sentiments.

Following inquiry the police found the charges to be trumped up and that it was the mob that had violated the law by assaulting the Christian youth.
