Christians illegally detained by police in Indore for two days

On 5th September 2020, a pastor from Indore, Madhya Pradesh informed that he and 7 other Christians were in a prayer meeting in a neighboring village when almost 150 religious extremists came and surrounded the ongoing meeting. They abused and threatened the Christians due to their faith. When police reached the spot, they took of them in custody and kept them in detention illegally for two days inspite of being charged only under ‘apprehension of breach of peace’ proceedings u/s 107, 116 and 151 Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
