Church service disrupted, sentiments of Christians hurt and pastor beaten up

On 19th February 2017, a church service was disrupted by a group of about 25 Hindutva activists who barged into the church and attacked the pastor and believers in Pandri Paani village, Bilaspur district, Chattissgarh.

The Hindutva activists brought their priest inside the church, carried the picture and idol of their gods and forcefully placed them on the altar and performed rituals there, hurting the sentiments of the Christians. Also, they forcefully applied vermilion on the forehead of the Christian women inside the church.

When the pastor tried to intervene and question the Hindutva activists, they dragged the pastor outside the church and beat up him.
