On 26th April 2019, Hindutva extremists stopped the prayer meeting telling that this land is belongs to Hindus and warned the Christians with dire consequences in Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu.

Hindutva extremists barged in to the prayer meeting and disrupted and told them not to continue any form of Christian activites here because this village is belongs to hindus only. The extremist warned that if they continue to conduct the prayer meeting then they shall be tied and burnt alive. After the incidents the Christians tried twice to register the complaint against the extremists at Jevan Police station but they didn’t accept the complaint.

On 21st April Sunday, Criminal Investigation Department personnel visited the church and took pictures, then on 26th April few officers from the Municipality came to the church accompanied by around 20 police officers. They seized the Christians gathered there and forced them out of the church and started to demolishing the church. On seeing this, the Christian leaders gathered and opposed the arbitrary action of the officials. As a result, the officials restrained themselves. However, the church has been sealed.
