Pastors alleged to have termed Hindu Gods as evil spirits in Chhattisgarh, India

A Pastor was forcefully pulled out by Hindu extremists during Sunday’s service at Koranga village, Jashpur District on August 18, 2014 and taken to the police station where the police arrested him and booked him under Section 295(A). The extremists had lodged complaints against the Pastor in three different police stations. They alleged that he had referred to Hindu Gods as evil spirits, asked believers to wear necklaces with crosses and converted people. About 20 local villagers testified at the Kunkuri Police Station that the allegations were false. The Pastor is still in jail and has not got bail till press time.
