ister Valsa John, a prominent Human Right activist, who was brutally murdered for her stand against the PANEM coal mines in Pakur District, Jharkhand.

The incident took place on Tuesday, November 15, when some unidentified men entered into her house and murdered her in her sleep. Valsa, a member of the Sisters of Charity Jesus and Mary Congregation had been living in the village for the last 12 years and has been actively involved in the Tribal Rights Issues.
