Anti-Conversion Laws, Arrest/Detention, Intimidation, Threats and Harassment
A Christian person was organising a prayer session at his home in the company of two other believers at Sahebganj, Jharkhand. The Christians had helped some families in the village to obtain their ration supplies as part of charity work. However, the villagers objected and levelled false accusations against them that they were trying to convert people in the village to Christianity. During the prayer meeting four villagers barged in and threatened them. Subsequently, a police complaint was filed against the Christians and an FIR was registered against them under sections 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code and Rule 4 of the Jharkhand Freedom of Religion Rules.
