An incident was reported on the helpline that on 24/10/2019, in Perigaon village, in Tadmarton, Rayagada in Odisha, late in the evening, the Village Chief and other members of the Gram Panchayat trespassed into the houses of 9 Christian families in the village, seized some Bibles and other Christian literature and set it on fire before the statue of a Hindu deity. Thereafter, they accused the Christians of practicing black magic and doing religious conversions of villagers.
